My 'Final' Pancreas Follow Up, And My Lung Function Baseline Test

Last Thursday, 1st Aug, I had two medical appointments. Both somewhat landmark in their own way.

My first appointment that day was a follow-up for my chronic pancreatitis. With everything else that is going on, this was more of a courtesy to the surgeon, than it was to my benefit at all. That said, I was still delayed by 45 minutes in seeing him, and in the end, only ended up seeing his off-sider and a Doctor in training.

During the appointment, they played their game of pretending not to know the extent to everything that was going on with me, which I didn't mind too much because I'm actually enjoying being fairly blunt about things at the moment.

I clearly stated that, yes, that referred pancreatic pain that they have been treating was, in fact, completely unrelated and was being caused by the pancoast tumour and its fondness for engulfing my nerves and other body parts, causing significant and increasing pain over the past 2 years. I also advised that when I DO beat this thing, the specialist I saw in Sydney is confident that they can fix my CP (95% sure) and that there is no need for them to go ahead here and remove my gallbladder (as a precautionary measure). They agreed with all this. I also suggested that if someone is presenting with referred pancreatic pain, that is far from typical, that perhaps further investigation should occur instead of simply treating the pain. I emphasised that this will probably save lives.

I finished this first appointment with them stating I have a great attitude about the whole thing. The attitude is for me, not them. At the end of the day I have this going on whether I'm angry, bitter, annoyed, positive etc. The attitude I exude is all for me.

My second appointment on Thursday was a lung function baseline test. No right or wrong answers here, though I do love me a good test.

By simply calling it a test, though, means I'm going to do all I can to pass it, lol. But there is nothing to report on here. everything went well, no concerns, and if you ask me, I'm sure I nailed it.

My next appointment now is on Monday, the 5th of Aug. This will be my first oncology appointment.
