First Round Of Specialist Appointments

not a real cyber knife

Today I attend some of my first specialist appointments.

So far I've only been in verbal contact with the Doctor leading my treatment. I expressed to him on my first contact that I'm young, healthy and I want to do whatever I can to beat this thing (obviously). He called yesterday to update me and confirm that he, too, believes I am a great candidate to have a chance against this. He's breaking protocols to ensure I have the best chance, and is hoping to employ some breakthrough treatments. The surgeons have unfortunately stated they cannot operate due to the way the tumour has already integrated itself around my nerves, leaving chemo and radiation the only way forward for now. I'm hoping that the experimental treatment my Doctor wants to go ahead with is the Cyber Knife I've heard about. Regardless of the results, it just sounds so cool, right?

Anyway, it's that time and I have to get ready to take myself to the clinic and start some tests. Of course, this may all be for nought if they find the disease has spread, although initial PET scan has indicated that it hasn't.

Peace out.
